Jewels of Light

It all began as a way to create opportunities for myself as an actor and to dive deeper into the world of producing and filmmaking. But what started as a modest endeavor quickly grew into something bigger, bolder, and far more meaningful. The stories I began to tell became urgent and essential, reflecting the volatile and often hostile world we live in—one where we label and target what we do not understand, leading to anger, segregation, abuse of power, violence and destruction. As a species, we seem trapped in a relentless cycle of war and repetition, unable to break free from the patterns of our past.

What started as a necessity evolved into a lifelong mission. As I crafted characters and narratives, the urgency to address global crises—ecological imbalance, poverty, gender and racial inequality, hunger, homelessness, and the scarcity of clean water—became clear. I am convinced that kindness and compassion are the true “weapons” needed to heal our fractured planet and reconnect with our shared humanity. We must work toward a future where resources are distributed fairly, and where every life is recognized and valued.

Jewels of Light embarks on the journey of two female elves, who are believed to be the last of their kind in a world on the brink of destruction. After seven years immersed in this narrative, I've come to appreciate its profound potential. This story is not merely a tale; it's a beacon of hope and a call to action.

In these characters’ quest for connection, equity, love, and a sense of belonging, I see a reflection of our own struggles and aspirations. The elves’ journey serves as a powerful metaphor for our collective quest for a more just and compassionate world. Through their adventures, I aim to provoke thought and spark societal change, urging us all to consider how we can unite to build a world that is fairer, more empathetic, and empowering for everyone.

As an artist, my mission is to provoke, ignite, and inspire. This story embodies that purpose, and I eagerly anticipate its potential to resonate with and uplift many people. By harnessing the boundless possibilities of the fantasy genre, I’ve been crafting a story rich with vivid imagery, archetypes, myths, and folklore from across the globe. My aim is clear: to convey that our origins, appearance, possessions, or accents do not dictate our worth but are vital to the balance of our collective existence.

Jewels of Light delves into the complexities of flawed characters whose poor choices offer a profound exploration of their humanity. Through a fantastical and metaphorical lens, their journey invites us to fall in love with their imperfections and witness their quest as a reflection of our own struggles and triumphs.

Upprukna

Our story unfolds in the world of Upprukna, where the concept of evil is explored through an existential lens, reflecting pressing global issues.

I have a deep admiration for broken and flawed characters—those who are uncertain of their identities or place in the world but find themselves through their journey. Just as we each uncover who we are through life’s experiences, pain, and interactions, this narrative aims to illustrate that process of self-discovery and growth.

Jewels of Light also seeks to amplify the voices of those whose resonance is fading in our world—lost civilizations, tribes, and cultures that have shaped our modern understanding yet are often forgotten. Through this story, I strive to honor and revive their significance.

Characters

Ilsevel (Ill-sev-elle)

Ilsevel is the sole survivor of the Emerald Realm of Erethios, a world ravaged by fire and plague. To ensure her survival, her parents escape with her to Guphrin—the Sapphire Realm, the last hope for her continued existence. There, she is raised alongside Princess Meira, who will one day become Gaelira’s mother, forging a deep bond as closest friends.

Though Ilsevel appears to be in her late 30s or early 40s, she carries the weight of 500 years of elven life. Her soul, though kind and sometimes lost, can ignite into fierce bravery when needed. A natural leader and protector, she is a highly skilled warrior, guided by her totem animals—the eagle and the wolf.

Endowed with the ancient powers of the Emerald Realm, Ilsevel possesses forest knowledge, the ability to communicate with the elements, precise navigational skills, and heightened senses that aid in detecting threats. She is also adept in healing and mind-altering spells, embodying a rich legacy of deep inner strength and mystical abilities.

GAELIRA (Gáéh-lee-rah)

Gaelira, the last surviving Sapphire elf, is the cherished princess and only daughter of Queen Meira -Ilsevel’s best friend- from the realm of Guphrin. Despite her youthful appearance—seeming in her late teens to early twenties—she is actually 100 years old, which is still quite young by elven standards.

With her European features, fair skin, blue eyes, and either blonde, silver or reddish hair, Gaelira’s innocent face has the power to melt hearts. Her gentle nature is reflected in her sweet, ever-present smile. However, beneath this delicate exterior lies a gifted being with mysterious premonition powers she struggles to comprehend. Highly sensitive to the elements and nature, she can sense the emotions of animals, communicate with trees, and connect with various entities of the world, whether seen or unseen.

Although Gaelira's empathy often places her in challenging situations, her naivety is matched by a certain arrogance. Throughout her journey with Ilsevel, she will learn to trust others and mature, evolving from a headstrong brat into a more responsible and self-aware sorceress.
